FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

You walked with me
Footprints in the sand
And helped me understand
Where I’m going
You walked with me
When I was all alone
With so much I no along the way
Then I heard you say

I promise you
I’m always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
I’ll carry you
When you need a friend
You’ll find my footprints in the sand

I see my life
Flash across the sky
So many times have I
Been so afraid ooh
And just when I
Have thought I’ve lost my way

You give me strength to carry on
That’s when I heard you say

I promise you
I’m always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
I’ll carry you
When you need a friend
You’ll find my footprints in the sand

When I’m weary
Well I no you’ll be there
And I can feel you
When you say

I promise you
I’m always there
When your heart is full of sadness and despair
I’ll carry you
When you need a friend
You’ll find my footprints in the sand

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Dannii Minogue & Danyl Johnson

Hi there. I want to clear up exactly what happened on last night's X Factor show and post my sincere apologies to anyone who took offense. I made a comment about Danyl changing the lyrics of his song (And I'm Telling You - Dreamgirls). It was meant to be a humorous moment about the fact he has an opportunity to have fun with his song. An openly bi-sexual singing a song that is lyrically a 'girl's song'. Danyl and I were joking about the very same thing in rehearsals on Friday, so it carried on to the show. I'd like to apologise to anyone that was offended by my comments, it was never my intention. I spoke to Danyl straight after the show last night and he wasn't offended or upset by my comments, and knew exactly what I was saying.
Dx

DANYL JOHNSON SAID:

"I was not at all offended by Dannii's comment. We're completely cool about it and chatted after the show. I wasn't upset, it's just so overwhelming being up there on stage and hearing Simon be so positive!"

X Factor Statement: Danyl Johnson

"Dannii made a joke about the lyrics of Danyl's song, referencing a recent newspaper interview he has given about his private life. She spoke to Danyl straight after the show, explained what she was talking about and he wasn't offended in the slightest. Dannii is mortified if her comments have been misinterpreted as she has always been hugely supportive of the gay and bi-sexual community for her entire career."

The Pride of Britain Awards were incredible as usual. What normal people achieve under extraordinary circumstances is mind blowing.

I met a handful of these inspiring people. Two girls that really struck a chord with me were Kristen and Maren. These girls shone with a beauty both inside and out.

Dannii attends CVQO Youth Appeal

Yesterday X Factor’s Dannii Minogue helped The Duke of Westminster to launch a £2m fundraising appeal for the educational charity CVQO (Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation) at the Cavalry and Guards Club in Piccadilly, London. CVQO aims to widen the help it offers to young people to reach their full potential. There are currently over 2,000 eligible cadets who want to earn extra qualifications, sometimes the only ones they will achieve, but they are being excluded through lack of funding.

Dannii, having spent time hearing from 12 young people who have all benefitted from qualifications through CVQO said: “I think a CVQO Diploma gives cadets the edge – their X Factor!”

The Duke of Westminster, patron of the appeal, commented: “We know that young people are the future. We owe it to the next generation to give them the best possible start in life. CVQO is doing just that by helping them gain practical qualifications and preparing them for their future.”

Other guests included Lorraine Kelly, Kate Adie, Pete Waterman and Jonathan Rathbone, with others such as Joanna Lumley, Jools Holland, Martin Bell and Susan Hampshire all agreeing to be Patrons.

CVQO is a vibrant and dynamic organisation, helping cadets to find their X Factor. It was created to support young people in achieving their full potential, by engaging them in vocational qualifications outside of school. For some young people the only qualifications they have achieved have been through CVQO. Luke, a cadet from Liverpool quoted below, is now on a path to learning and employment that was previously beyond his reach.

“I have achieved more in the past year than I have my entire life. Not only have I gained internationally recognised qualifications, I have also managed to stay on the right side of the law thanks to cadets and CVQO.”

Today through CVQO, over 10,000 cadets from all over the country are studying towards a BTEC First Diploma in Public Services, Music or Engineering. These internationally recognised qualifications are worth 4 GCSEs at grades A* to C. These formal qualifications ensure that cadets are now better prepared for a successful future in these difficult times.

But help is needed. The appeal aims to extend these opportunities to other interested youth movements. This will be possible only with further funding.

Michael Gove MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families said, on visiting CVQO earlier this year: “The (CVQO) Team does a wonderful job helping young people learn so much in an environment which fosters self-discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills. We hear a lot about the problems with young people today but the cadets remind us how much we have to be proud of in the next generation.”

Said Edward Woods, chief executive of CVQO: “We offer young people a different way forward. The qualifications are vocational and often appeal strongly to those who for whatever reason have become disengaged or disenchanted with the academic route. There is a clear credits based progressive system, which builds up confidence and self-esteem in candidates. The funding we receive is stretched a very long way, but today we have over 2,000 cadets ‘waitlisted’ to register for a BTEC. In some cases, they have already completed much of the work in anticipation of being able to enrol.”

CVQO Patron and TV presenter Lorraine Kelly said: “I presented hard earned CVQO Diploma certificates to a group of dedicated cadets at the Queens Barracks in Perth just a few weeks ago. It was a hugely uplifting evening and another chance for me to get to know my cadets and their hard working adult instructors.”

Dannii Minogue opens new ETIHAD home at London Heathrow

DANNII MINOGUE WELCOMES ETIHAD AIRWAYS PASSENGERS AT ITS NEW HOME AT HEATHROW TERMINAL 4

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has today moved into its new home at Heathrow Terminal Four where it operates three daily flights to Abu Dhabi and onward to over 55 destinations around the world. To celebrate the move Dannii Minogue, X-Factor judge, welcomed the first passengers to use the new Etihad dedicated check-in facilities that will enhance the level of service they receive at the airport. Dannii chatted with passengers in Etihad’s new premium lounge that features individual treatment rooms where therapists from Six Senses Spa offer passengers facials, and foot and leg massages. Etihad passengers can now relax in style in the lounge and enjoy a range of other luxurious services and facilities including five-star dining facilities with a selection of foods from around the world, all cooked in an open kitchen.

The new lounge, conveniently located opposite the gates most commonly used by Etihad Airways for flight departures, has a modern timber panelled business centre that provides individual workstations with Wifi and privacy for those with laptops. Other features include a prayer room, a relaxing seating area with Poltrona Frau leather chairs and bathroom and shower facilities. The lounge can be used by Etihad first and business class customers and Etihad Guest Gold and Silver card holders. Etihad Airways’ move to Terminal Four is part of a multi-million pound investment by Heathrow that will see new shops and facilities and an increased level of comfort for passengers using the terminal.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad’s chief commercial officer, said: “The new Etihad check-in facilities and lounge are among the best available at Heathrow. Passengers will now receive world-class service from the moment they enter the terminal through to their flight with Etihad to over 55 destinations around the world. Etihad is committed to delivering the best airline experience in the world and we look forward to welcoming our customers to Terminal Four.” Colin Matthews, chief executive of Heathrow, said: “We are delighted to see Etihad settle in Terminal 4. We are investing £200 million at Terminal 4, rebuilding many parts of the terminal, providing passengers with a new, modern airport building that offers improved facilities and higher standards of service.” The new premium lounge at Heathrow is the third Etihad has opened, following on from Abu Dhabi and Frankfurt earlier this year.

Etihad Airways also provides a complimentary limousine service for its first and business class passengers flying in and out of Heathrow. First class customers flying from Heathrow are the first to take advantage of the airline’s market leading first class suite that entered into service between Heathrow and Abu Dhabi last month. The new private suite provides first class customers with an extra-large leather seat, upholstered by world-renowned leather company Poltrona Frau, which extends to a fully-flat bed, 80.5 inches in length. Within the cabin customers also have access to a large and luxurious changing room with a full length mirror, wash basin and leather fold-down seat to allow passengers to freshen up at any time during the flight.
