PROJECT D Worldwide Launch @ Selfridges, London

'Project D' is the much-heralded collaboration between Dannii Minogue and London designer Tabitha Somerset-Webb. Last night they launched the collection at Selfridges, Oxford Street, London.

The Autumn / Winter capsule collection marks the first phase of Project D, which will also include an accessories range and the launch of an eponymous fragrance later in 2010.

Dannii Minogue, the recent recipient of an ELLE Style Award and amongst the top five in UK Vogue's "Best Dressed List", has joined forces with Tabitha to create a ready-to-wear line of luxurious dresses.

Tabitha first launched her range of luxury fashion handbags in 2003, with a desire to create a range that was functional yet fashionably chic. 'Tabitha' is currently stocked internationally in outlets including Bloomingdales, Fenwicks and Urban Outfitters.

Dannii and Tabitha aim to bring accessible glamour and style to the real world through Project D.

'Team Minogue' X Factor contestants Lucie Jones, Rachel Adedeji and Ruth Lorenzo all turned out to support Dannii in her new venture.

DANNII MINOGUE TO PUBLISH HER AUTOBIOGRAPHY

(NOTE TO JOURNALISTS: This is not the book cover)

Simon and Schuster UK has acquired the world-wide rights to a deeply personal and long-awaited memoir by Dannii Minogue, Mike Jones, non-fiction Editorial Director announced today. In a competitive auction, the rights to the first ever autobiography by the pop singer, actress, TV star, fashion icon and mum-to-be were acquired from Pat Lomax at Bell Lomax Literary Agency. The book is scheduled for publication in autumn 2010.

The currently untitled autobiography will offer an intimate account of Dannii’s childhood in Australia, her rise to teenage TV stardom in
Home And Away, her relationship with sister Kylie, her marriage and subsequent divorce, her international pop career, the trials and tribulations of her role as X-Factor judge, as well as her relationship with model Kris Smith, with whom she’s expecting her first baby with in July.

Dannii says:
“I feel as though a whole life chapter is closing, and a new exciting one is unfolding. It feels like the right time to put pen to paper to account my first 38 years. It’s important to me that the book contains all the ups and downs of my life so far, with many stories untold. I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Simon & Schuster to finally put my story on record."

Mike Jones says: "Dannii has an amazing story to tell. She’s greatly loved and admired here in the UK and around the world. Dannii has never written about her life before, and this promises to be a revealing, personal, touching and hugely entertaining book. We’re extremely proud to be publishing this book with Dannii and looking forward to working with her, and bringing it to a wide audience this coming autumn”.

Dannii will co-write her autobiography with songwriter / record producer turned signed-author Terry Ronald. As well as being close friends, the pair have a professional relationship spanning nearly two decades; collaborating on numerous Top Ten hit singles, including; ‘This Is It’ (1993), ‘All I Wanna Do’ (1997), ‘Who Do You Love Now?’ (2001), ‘Put The Needle On It’ (2002) and ‘I Begin To Wonder’ (2003). Together they form the perfect partnership to bring the true Dannii story to the public arena.

Terry says: “Dannii and I have been both work colleagues and the closest of friends for almost 20 years. I've been an eye-witness as well as confidant during the many highs and lows of her personal and professional life. I'm extremely excited about working with her to document her amazing story.”

The last year has seen Dannii’s star ascend into the stratosphere, becoming a bona fide national treasure, as hailed by the UK media. Most recently, following her triumphant 2009 season on The X Factor, watched by a peak of 19.2 million, Dannii has been crowned ‘Best TV Star’ by the readers of Elle magazine and ‘Ultimate TV Personality’ by Cosmopolitan. Vogue also named Dannii one of the world’s Top Ten most stylish women. Dannii will make her Marks & Spencer debut this month in their Spring / Summer TV campaign. She will also launch her first fashion collection ‘Project D’ in the UK in June.

Dannii returns to Australia's Got Talent - Series 4

Dannii Minogue is excited to be returning to the judge’s desk on the new season of Australia’s Got Talent.

Dannii will sit alongside new judges Kyle Sandilands and Brian McFadden for the fourth season of Seven’s nationwide talent search. She recently returned to Australia after another successful season with the UK talent show, The X Factor, making her one of that country’s hottest TV properties. Dannii was recently named 'Ultimate TV Personality' at the Cosmopolitan Awards in London and was dubbed a 'national treasure' and 'style icon' by UK media.

Dannii is looking forward to another great season of Australia’s Got Talent:

"I'm no stranger to the shaking up of a judging panel and am really excited to be on board to take our show to a new level. Globally, Australian's are recognised for their talent and hard work and I can't wait to see what this series of Australia's Got Talent will unearth - not just to us, but to the world."

" After judging on The X Factor panel alongside Simon Cowell, Kyle will be a pussycat! "

Last year, the UK version of ‘Got Talent gave birth to international success story Susan Boyle while at home, winner Mark Vincent established himself as Australia’s youngest opera virtuoso at just 15 years of age with a top-selling album on the ARIA charts.

The competition in Australia’s Got Talent is open to everyone from solo acts and group performances to comedians and dance troupes – and there is no age limit.

Australia’s Got Talent is coming soon to Channel Seven.

PCC upholds compaints over Daily Mirror & Daily Record pregnancy stories

The Press Complaints Commission has today upheld two complaints from Dannii Minogue against the Daily Mirror and the Daily Record, ruling that in both cases, "a regrettable lapse in editorial judgement" led to an invasion of her privacy in breach of Clause 3 (Privacy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The newspapers had published stories which reported that Ms Minogue was expecting her first child, despite the fact that she had not yet had her twelve week scan. They argued that publication could be justified on the grounds that the information about the pregnancy was already in the public domain, having appeared on the Sydney Morning Herald website the day before, as well as on a blog. This, they argued, meant that the information ceased to be private.

The Commission did not accept this argument. The references in the Sydney Morning Herald and the blog were speculative rather than confirmed, and did not mean that the information was so extensively in the public domain that it would have been perverse not to refer to it. It concluded "this was no more than common sense; otherwise, any reference online would represent automatic justification for a newspaper to publish otherwise intrusive material".

PCC Director Stephen Abell said: "This case is an important reminder to editors of the high standards required by Clause 3 (Privacy) of the Code around health matters. The Commission's case law in this area make absolutely clear the care the PCC expects newspapers to take when considering stories about pregnancy".

Both adjudications were published today on page 3.

Ranging from £10 to £2,000, the stock will feature labels such as Versace, Dior, Prada, McQueen, D&G and Jean Paul Gaultier. The shop will be restocked daily until sold out and a clearance sale will take place on any unsold stock on Saturday 19th December. ‘Out the Closet’ always attracts the A-list shoppers from Elle Macpherson and Nathalie Imbruglia to Elizabeth Hurley. 100% of proceeds from sales will go to support the work on the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Elton John comments, “Out The Closet has become an amazing fundraising opportunity for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. We always get a fantastic response from the public - I think the idea that the items we all buy and enjoy can help someone in dire need, particularly at this time of year, really strikes a chord. I’m so grateful for everyone’s support in making this happen.”

David Furnish adds, “The new stock in Out The Closet represents the largest clear out that I have ever had, and it’s exciting to think that my clothes will draw a whole new demographic into our shop. For the first time we have sunglasses in-store and other accessories which will make great Christmas gifts”

The Elton John AIDS Foundation is one of the world’s leading non-profit organisations funding programmes that help to alleviate the physical, emotional and financial hardship of those living with, affected by or at risk of HIV/AIDS. EJAF was formed primarily to look after the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS in the United Kingdom; it is still the largest HIV/AIDS grant maker in the UK. However, during the past sixteen years, the organisation has also extended the scope of its work, now funding in 15 countries over 4 continents, it is one of the 20 largest international AIDS charities.

We would like to thank our sponsors, Covent Garden London for donating the use of Flower Cellars as our shop venue and JCPR (jcpr.com) for managing the media and communications, without whom, we would not have been able to make this happen.
