Dannii hosting the 2008 UK Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (KCA'S)
Pop star, actress and gorgeous X Factor judge, Dannii Minogue, has been announced as the host for this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards UK.
Dannii has presented and won various awards throughout her career, including ‘TV Personality of the Year’ at the Glamour Awards earlier this year.
“I am so excited about presenting this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards UK, it will be absolutely brilliant. There’s no other place on the planet you could have more fun!”
The KCA’s are 100% voted for by the kids, and a phenomenal 4 million votes have been cast by Nickelodeon viewers. Dannii will be joined by some of Nickelodeon’s biggest stars, plus a whole host of celebs as the much coveted award winners are revealed at ExCel London on 13 September.
“It’s an honour to present the awards and follow in the footsteps of some of the biggest stars in the world,” says Dannii. “Nickelodeon is such an awesome channel and the show is so huge in the States, we really want to show we can match them here in the UK. It’s going to be spectacular!”
Dannii is thrilled to be involved in the KCA’s and is ready to get to grips with Nickelodeon’s famous green slime.
“We’re going to rock the house, and apparently no one is safe from being slimed - not even me!”
Last year the UK viewers chose to slime TV babe Holly Willoughby, covering her in the legendary green gunk, and Dannii has already decided who she wants to get slimed!
“Simon Cowell of course! But could he handle it? Or would we finally see Mr Nasty lose his cool on TV?! We’ll have to wait and see.”
This year’s event will take place on 13 September in front of a specially invited audience of 2,500 – mostly kids, and will be broadcast a week later (20 September) at 11 am exclusively on Nickelodeon with subsequent broadcasts on MTV Hits (11am, 21 September) and TMF – it is sure to be the most slime-tastic family television event of the year!
